    A BRILLIANTLY VOGUE NIGHTCLUB

“46 Lounge, a brilliantly vogue club that ironically, incorporates elements of Manhattan, Miami and Los Angeles is located right off New Jersey’s own Route 46 and is a place where diversity is encouraged, and the party never ends. According to owner, Hendrick, it’s important to welcome “people of different races, ethnicities and backgrounds” to 46 Lounge. Hendrick’s accepting attitude developed as he, an Asian-American, grew up in an Italian neighborhood.

When he opened the club just over a year ago, Hendrick intended to create a chic, upscale New-York-esque venue without the New York commute. Judging by the line outside and the wild crowd inside, his mission was successful. With three martini and wine bars and a design that includes Italian metallic tile, an off-set VIP area made for the rich and famous and suitable for anyone, a natural earth-toned atmosphere (bathrooms are comprised of elements such as slate and steel), the club is guaranteed to make any party-goer feel A-list…but there’s even more where that came from. The small plate menu is to die for, featuring what Hendrick described as “Modern American, with Mediterranean, Italian, Asian, and Latin influence.

Hendrick is so interested in diversifying his crowd, he decided to do more than just celebrating America on July 4. Not only did he create the largest and most entertaining event for the holiday, he also decided to celebrate countries from around the world (of course, making America the main event), and decorated the entire venue with flags of various countries, streamers, and, of course, the eccentric Lounge 46 crowd with plenty of panache to go around. The staff deserves plenty of credit, too. Even with constant business, they’re always offering a great service while simultaneously having a great time themselves.
And be warned, this isn’t a place for a wallflower. The high energy club definitely made for those who dress to impress (Ladies, look fabulous! HotShotz is frequently there to take a picture of you and your friends having a blast) and want to have a great time, whether by sitting on the posh couches along the walls and enjoying the chic atmosphere and the handsome crowd, or by dancing all night..indoors or out. The music is usually house, hip-hop, or reggaeton, so anyone looking to dance will literally have a ball…and there’s plenty of music to dance to!

Some of the many events that take place at the lounge are: Afterwork Fridays, the lounge’s corporate happy hour with DJ Joey C (who spins a variety of music from current Top 40 hits to music from the 80s and 90s) and free hors d’oeurves from 6-8 pm. Fridays also offer $5 martinis, specialty cocktails, and $3 beers until 9 pm; Status Thursdays with DJ Joey C and DJ Todd George; Latino or not, you all will enjoy Latin Saturdays featuring some of the best Latin DJs in the area, with music that includes salsa, merengue, bachata, freestyle, house and Spanish rock. Enjoy the sounds while sipping $5 Mojitos and Apple Martinis until midnight.
In the past, the lounge has thrown parties with appearances by Danity Kane, Lumidee, and even a “Teacher Appreciation Night.”
